2020 Vergilian Society Translation Contest Results

Open only to secondary-level students of Latin (including home-schooled), the contest sets a passage from Vergil’s Aeneid for translation. In addition, contestants are required to answer several questions, and write a 3-4 paragraph essay based on the text set. Cash prizes are awarded to the top ten papers. Certificates of Commendation are sent to excellent papers.

Thank you to the 98 students from 11 schools who participated in this year’s exam. Results below are listed in descending order of performance. Special thanks go to this year’s team of scorers: Claire Bishop (Charlotte Christian School); Sarah Harrell (BASIS Independent Fremont); Amy Leonard (Grady High School); and Patrick Yaggy (BASIS Tucson North).
